The 4th Women’s Summer at the Bar jeder Vernunft
Barb Jungr & John McDaniel
1968 – Let The Sun Shine In
In Barb Jungr, we have the honour of welcoming one of Britain’s finest voices. Her live evenings are as seldom as they are intense. Her musical interpretations are multilayered and of a depth that does not require any artistic pathos. With her wide smile and her wonderfully warm-hearted manner, Barb Jungr always takes the BAR JEDER VERNUNFT by storm. John McDaniel accompanies her on the piano. He is a composer and producer from Missouri, highly decorated with Emmys, Grammys and a Tony Award.
This interplay promises a rich evening with highly intelligent, moving and pleasantly surprising interpretations of songs that, 50 years ago, gave their listeners hope, courage and inspiration. Exclusively for the “myth of ‘68”, these two exceptional artists sought out the iconic and unexpected hymns of this decisive year. They are Born to Be Wild, know the Preacher Man and sing about the Revolution. They go in search of America and Just A Little Piece of Your Heart; they are Street Fighting Men and hope for the beginning of the Age of Aquarius.
